Your privacy is important to Madden Media (“Madden,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose personal information that we may collect anytime you interact with us including when you visit our website, contact us, apply to work with us, or subscribe to our communications. Madden provides marketing services to other organizations, and to the extent we process personal information on behalf of our clients as a service provider, our contract with our client governs the use of that information.

What Information We Collect

Our website is not intended for use by those under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect, use, process or otherwise disclose information about children under the age of 16.

In the past twelve (12) months, we have collected the following categories of personal information:

• Communications, such as email communications,  information relating to a support or service issue, and chat transcripts or other electronic communications with website chatbots;

• Internet or other similar network information, such as IP address, browser type and version, type of device you use, operating system version, and device identifier, geographic location, pages you view, how you got to our website and any links you click on to leave our website, metadata and user behavioral metrics about your use of our website and emails we send to you (including clicks and opens), session analytics, pages visited on our website, and other metadata about how you interact with our website;

• Applicant information, such as information on your resume or contained in an employment application including references, employment history, screening question responses, training, or educational history.

Information you provide to us. We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you use or interact with our website. For example, when completing the “Contact Us” form or subscription to our newsletter, the types of information we collect may include your name, email address, company name, and any other information you choose to include in your message. We also collect personal information when you sign up and participate in our webinars or other industry events that we host.

Information we collect automatically. As you use our website, we may use technologies that collect certain information about you automatically, including analytics providers that tell us how you navigate our website and automated chat functions to answer questions. To do this, we may use different technologies that collect certain information about how you access and use our website. Information we collect from other sources. We may receive personal information about you from third parties that help us operate our website and services. For example, our website includes an embedded third party application platform that collects information you provide when submitting an online application. We may also collect personal information from the organizers of industry events and conferences that we participate in or sponsor.

As is standard practice on most websites, Madden and third parties may use a variety of technologies that collect information automatically, including cookies, pixels, web beacons, flash cookies, and logging. Those technologies may collect, among other things, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. We may use this information to analyze trends and traffic patterns, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base. Web Beacons. “Web beacons” or “tracking pixels” are electronic images, tags or scripts that allow a website to access cookies, and, among other things, help track general usage patterns of visitors to a website. We and the third parties described below may use web beacons to compile information regarding your use of the website.

Email Tracking. In some of our email messages we use a “click-through URL” linked to content on the Madden Media website. When customers click one of these URLs, they pass through our web server before arriving at the destination web page. We track this click-through data to help us determine interest in particular topics and measure the effectiveness of our customer communications. If you prefer not to be tracked, simply avoid clicking text or graphic links in the email.

How We Use Information

We may use your personal information:

Sale and Sharing of Personal Information
When you interact with our website, we may use or authorize third party partners and service providers to use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to improve your experience with us or to show you relevant online advertisements. We may also run marketing campaigns or sweepstakes for our clients and share personal information with them as leads. Our sharing of your personal information in this way may constitute “selling”, “sharing”, or “targeted advertising” under applicable U.S. state privacy laws. The term “sale” is broadly defined by some U.S. state privacy laws and includes sharing personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration.

• “Shine the Light”: California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits you to request information regarding the disclosure of your personal information to a third party for the third party’s direct marketing purposes.
• The Right to Appeal: The right to appeal our decision regarding your request within a reasonable time period dependent on applicable law. 
• Marketing Opt-Out. You may opt-out of receiving future marketing communication from us by using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of email communications from us. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to process such requests in a timely manner.

Only you, or a person that you authorize to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. You may also make a verifiable consumer request on behalf of your minor child. If you are making a request on behalf of another person, you must provide written legal documentation that you are authorized to act on behalf of that individual. The verifiable consumer request must:

• Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom it collected personal information or an authorized representative; and
• Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.

We may not be able to fulfill your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you. To verify your identity, we may request up to three pieces of personal information about you, and we reserve the right to take additional steps as necessary to verify your identity if we have reason to believe a request is fraudulent. If you do not agree with how we responded to your request, you may ask us to review our decision by contacting us through the above noted methods.

Response Timing and Format
We endeavor to respond to a verifiable consumer request within 45 days of receipt. If we require more time (up to 90 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing. We will deliver the written response by mail or electronically, at your option. The response we provide will also explain the reasons it cannot comply with a request, if applicable. For data portability requests, we will select a format to provide your personal information that is readily useable and should allow you to transmit the information from one entity to another entity without hindrance.

How We Protect Your Personal Information
Madden takes precautions – including administrative, technical, and physical measures – designed to safeguard your personal information. Please keep in mind that the transmission of information over the Internet and on mobile platforms is not always secure, which means we cannot and do not guarantee the security or confidentiality of any personal information you provide to us. Given its reality, your use of our services, and your decision to provide personal information to us, is at your own risk.

Retention of Information
Madden will retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy. We will retain and use your personal information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies. 

Third party Privacy Policies
Please be aware that other websites, when accessed through our website, may collect personally identifiable information about you. The information practices of those third party websites linked to Madden are not covered by this Privacy Policy. 

Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect material changes in the manner in which we deal with personal information, including complying with law or self-regulatory standards, or for business purposes. We encourage you to review it regularly. Your continued use of the services and our website after we make changes is deemed to be your acceptance of any changes.
